I recently had the opportunity to visit a nearby tuition and teach underprivileged students some basic math. This experience was both fulfilling and enriching, and it helped me to develop a greater sense of empathy and social responsibility.<\/span><\/p>\n

LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth<\/span><\/p>\n

Through this experience, I was reminded of the importance of social responsibility and the role that education plays in empowering individuals and communities. I was also able to develop my own teaching skills and gain a greater understanding of the challenges faced by teachers in underprivileged schools.<\/span><\/p>\n

LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken.<\/span><\/p>\n

Before my visit, I took some time to plan my lessons and prepare the materials I would need. I knew that many of the students I would be working with had limited exposure to math, so I wanted to focus on basic concepts such as counting, addition, and subtraction. I also prepared some interactive activities and games that would make the learning experience more engaging and enjoyable.<\/span><\/p>\n

When I arrived at the school, I was greeted by a group of eager and curious students. Although they were initially shy and hesitant, I was able to establish a rapport with them by using a friendly and approachable teaching style. I was impressed by their eagerness to learn and their willingness to participate in the activities I had prepared.<\/span><\/p>\n

LO6 – Engagement with issues of global significance.<\/span><\/p>\n

As I worked with the students, I found myself becoming more aware of the challenges they face. Many of them come from low-income families and have limited access to educational resources. Despite these challenges, they were eager to learn and were determined to succeed. I was humbled by their resilience and inspired by their spirit of hope and determination.<\/span><\/p>\n

Overall, my visit to the small school to teach basic math was a valuable and meaningful experience. It allowed me to use my knowledge and skills to make a positive impact on the lives of others, and it helped me to develop a greater sense of empathy and social responsibility. I hope to continue to find ways to use my skills and talents to make a positive impact in my community and in the world.<\/span><\/p>\n
