When I was in grade 10, I recently developed an interest in basketball after seeing several of my classmates play. I so made the decision to take up basketball as my CAS activity experience. I enrolled at an academy to study it. I’ve been a member for six months, and I still go there every day besides Sundays. I addressed the following learning outcomes while learning basketball.<\/p>\n

LOs met:<\/p>\n

LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth<\/p>\n

I picked up basketball, so I learned a lot of new things and improved a lot of my skills. I also learnt basic basketball skills such as dribbling, shooting, and passing, as well as various physical skills such as hand-to-hand coordination, agility, flexibility, and high leaps, as these physical qualities are required to play basketball. I also improved my coordination with other basketball players because basketball is a team sport and we need to pass each other to score.<\/p>\n

LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process<\/p>\n

There were so many submissions and deadlines that it was difficult to find time to practise basketball, so I had to organise my schedule so that I could balance both schoolwork and basketball. I also experienced a few minor injuries while playing basketball, such as leg sprains and ankle twists, which prevented me from playing for a few days, but once I healed, I continued to play every day.<\/p>\n

LO4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences<\/p>\n

I was commited to this CAS experience since I had been practising basketball for over 6 months and continue to do so on a daily basis. There were numerous challenges, such as deadlines, injuries, and others, but I overcame them and continued to practise along with LO5.<\/p>\n

\u00c2\u00a0In conclusion, learning basketball turned out to be the best decision I’ve ever made because it taught me alot and I improved upon many mental traits as well such as keeping calm, team building, etc etc.<\/p>\n
