I have always loved being in water, and I wanted to learn to swim for a very long time. I did learn to swim when I was younger, but as time went on, I stopped practicing. Yet, swimming was a relaxing activity for me, and it felt great to let go of my body in the water. I made the decision to go swimming every weekday for a month in order to practice. Swimming is an exercise that improves cardiovascular fitness, muscle strength, and endurance.<\/span><\/p>\n

LO 1: Identify your own strengths and develop areas for personal growth.
\n<\/span>I don’t have a fear of the water, which has increased my comfort level around it. At first, I wasn’t able to swim using different techniques or for a longer period of time, but now that I can stop breathing underwater, I can perform underwater swimming. This experience gave me the opportunity to reflect on my past accomplishments and begin this physically healthy activity once again.<\/span><\/p>\n

LO 2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.
\n<\/span>It was challenging to manage time while performing several activities simultaneously. My muscles were tight when I went swimming for the first time, so it was a little challenging. However, as I continued swimming frequently, I was able to overcome this difficulty, which helped me become physically fit.<\/span><\/p>\n

LO 4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences.
\n<\/span>The biggest challenge was showing dedication because keeping up a strict routine for a month was difficult because at first my body pained from a lack of previous activity. I wasn’t used to having to exert my body more. And I had to persevere with this task even on lazy days.<\/span><\/p>\n

To sum it up, swimming has always been my favorite activity, and I plan to continue practicing regularly to further develop both my technique and speed.<\/span><\/p>\n
