Fresher’s Party

The Fresher’s Party for Grade 11 was a celebration for welcoming the batch of 2025 into IBDP. I was part of the organizing committee and led all other members during the process of organizing the event. Organizing the Fresher’s Party was a thrilling experience that allowed me to apply the principles of planning, commitment, and collaboration within framework of CAS. I took the initiative to plan and execute a memorable event for the incoming students. This experience allowed me to enhance my skills in event management, communication, and teamwork.

LO3:

The planning phase was crucial to the success of the Fresher’s Party. I initiated the process by conducting a detailed brainstorming session with the members of the committee. We identified the objectives of the event, the audience, and other external constraints. Through this process, I honed my organizational skills by creating outlining tasks, and setting deadlines for each stage of the event planning.

I researched various themes, venues, and entertainment options that aligned with our objective. After careful consideration and feedback from other members, we decided on a certain theme, which would require creative decor, music, and planning games.

LO4:

Demonstrating commitment, I dedicated significant time and effort to ensure the success of the Fresher’s Party. I actively participated in regular meetings and coordinated with the students to create a buzz about the event.

During the weeks leading up to the event, I worked tirelessly to address challenges, manage last-minute changes, and oversee the final preparations. My commitment was evident through my willingness to go above and beyond to ensure that the event would be a memorable experience for everyone involved.

LO5:

Collaboration played a vital role in the organization of the Fresher’s Party. I collaborated closely with my fellow members and teachers. Through effective communication and teamwork, we divided responsibilities, leveraged each other’s strengths, and supported one another during stressful moments. Collaboration was also evident in the way I encourage active participation from the students, ensuring that everyone felt included and engaged in the event.

On the day of the Fresher’s Party, the collaborative efforts of the team shone through. We efficiently managed the event, overseeing various activities, ensuring the smooth flow of the program, and promptly addressing any issues that arose. The positive feedback from both the attendees and teachers highlighted the success of our collaborative efforts.
