This was a pilot event taking place in our school for the very first time. I wanted to be a part of this event to start a tradition and make it a successful one. It was an event where the students of FS got an opportunity to showcase their talents. It consisted of a lot of categories they could participate in some of them being dance, music, fashion and more.Â
LO 3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience
This experience needed a lot of planning and management. Since it was happening for the first time ever we as a team had to start from scratch. We were given the responsibility to plan out everything. It was difficult at first to come up with new ideas to make the event interesting but during the whole process, it got easier. We started to divide tasks and work on them individually. Once that was done we combined everything to come up with the final plan. The planning part needed a lot of organizational skills. This skill will definitely help me in my day-to-day life to become a more organized and efficient person.Â
LO 5: Demonstrate the skills and recognise the benefits of working collaboratively
Moreover, this event also needed a lot of collaboration skills. As a team, we were not able to work together at first and all of us found it really challenging. To handle the situation we started with small individual tasks and as the day came closer we were able to function well as a team. This made me realise that working together as a team would have made the tasks a lot easier and would have also helped me develop my communication skills and management skills. The whole event would not have been possible without the team as every one of us played a very important role in the planning.Â
LO 7: Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions
Lastly, when we rolled out the forms we got a lot of responses but we had to narrow it down to five people in each category. So we had to take auditions, where we had to consider the ethical implications. Such as not being biased during the selection process and giving everyone a fair and equal chance. It was hard for us to select people and consider all the factors but in the end, we did come up with the final decision without any biases.Â
All in all, the event was quite successful and it was only possible because of the collaboration, management, planning and ethics throughout the entire process.
