Organizing Math Trivia (C)

LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

One of my strengths is my creativity. I am always coming up with new ideas and I am not afraid to try new things. This strength was helpful in organizing the math trivia event. I was able to come up with a variety of creative questions and activities that were both fun and challenging for the students.

Another strength of mine is my ability to organize and plan. I am able to think ahead and anticipate potential problems. This strength was also helpful in organizing the event. I was able to create a detailed schedule and ensure that everything ran smoothly on the day of the event.

One area where I can grow is in my public speaking skills. I am sometimes shy and nervous when speaking in front of a large group. This was a challenge for me when I had to introduce the event and explain the rules to the students. However, I challenged myself to step outside of my comfort zone and I was able to do a good job.

LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills

One of the biggest challenges that I faced in organizing the math trivia event was gathering participants. I had to promote the event to the students and convince them to participate. I did this by creating posters and flyers and by talking to the students in class.

Another challenge that I faced was making the questions. I wanted to make sure that the questions were challenging but also fair. I also wanted to make sure that the questions were relevant to the students’ curriculum. I spent a lot of time researching and writing the questions.

Despite the challenges, I was able to successfully organize the math trivia event. I was able to gather a large number of participants and the questions were well-received by the students. I learned a lot of new skills in the process, such as event planning, marketing, and public speaking.

LO5: Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively

I worked collaboratively with other students to organize the math trivia event. We worked together to plan the event, promote the event, and gather participants. We also worked together to make the questions and to run the event on the day.

Working collaboratively was beneficial in a number of ways. It allowed us to share our ideas and expertise. It also allowed us to delegate tasks and to help each other out. Additionally, working collaboratively helped us to build relationships and to learn from each other.

I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked with other students to organize the math trivia event. It was a rewarding experience that helped me to develop my skills and to learn from others.
