Video Reflection: https://youtu.be/R2ENnOSuMro?feature=shared My CAS project for the IB Diploma Program was to organize a university and career fair every year at my school. I chose this project because I wanted to help my fellow students learn more about their post-secondary options and connect with potential employers. Organizing a university and career fair is a lot of work, but it is also very rewarding. I had to start by enrolling university representatives to participate. I also had to find a venue for the event, promote it to students, and coordinate the logistics of the day. On the day of the fair, I was responsible for helping students check in, answering their questions, and ensuring that the event ran smoothly. I was also able to meet with many of the representatives from universities and businesses, and I learned a lot about their programs and opportunities. I had to persevere through challenges. There were challenges along the way. For example, if some universities cancel at last minute, we had to fill in their spots by other universities. The learning outcomes I learned are: 1. Identify your own strengths and develop areas for personal growth 2. Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience 3. Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences 4. Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively 5. Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance Overall, I am very proud of the work that I did on my CAS project. I learned a lot about organizing events, networking, and working with different stakeholders. I also had the opportunity to help my fellow students and make a positive impact on my school community. |
