Helping in a charity project to give school stuff to kids who need it. I’m organizing and giving out things like pens and notebooks to make their school time better. I want to help because some kids don’t have enough for school. By doing this, I’m learning to care about others and be fair, making sure everyone has a chance to learn and do well in school.
LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
In the charity project, I’m good at organizing things and talking to people, which helps a lot. But, I also want to learn more about the problems some kids face with education. So, by being part of this project, I’m growing by understanding more about how to help those who don’t have the same opportunities. It’s about recognizing what I’m good at and figuring out how to be even better by learning new things.
LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills
I had some challenges in organizing and making things happen. But by dealing with these challenges, I learned how to be better at organizing, talking with others, and solving problems. It’s like overcoming hard things helps me get better at different stuff, making me more skilled and able to handle new situations.
LO3 – Initiate and plan a CAS experience
I took the lead in spreading awareness in different grade wings in my school and contributing in organizing the effort to donate school supplies to kids in need. This required planning and figuring out how to make it happen. By doing this, I learned how to take charge just equally like my teammates, organize events, and make a positive difference in my community.
LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience
I showed perseverance by not giving up when faced with challenges. Whether it was organizing the donation drive or dealing with unexpected issues, I stayed committed to making a positive impact. This experience taught me the importance of staying determined and dedicated, even when things don’t go as planned.
LO5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively
I demonstrated collaborative skills by working with a team to organize and execute the donation effort. I learned how to communicate effectively, share responsibilities, and support each other. Working together made the project successful, and I experienced the benefits of collaboration, like achieving goals more efficiently and learning from different perspectives.
LO6 – Engagement with issues of global significance
I engaged with a global issue by addressing the lack of access to education for underprivileged children. This experience helped me see how this problem is not just local but affects many people globally. By participating in the project, I contributed to a solution on a smaller scale while being aware of the broader global issue. It opened my eyes to the interconnectedness of global challenges and the importance of making a positive impact, no matter the scale
LO7 – Recognise and consider the ethics of choices and actions
I considered the ethics of our choices, ensuring that the donations and activities were done in a fair and responsible manner. This included making sure that the help we provided was genuinely beneficial and respectful to the recipients. Understanding the ethical aspects of our decisions and actions is crucial for making a positive impact while respecting the dignity and rights of those we aim to help
