There was this day when I was with my family at Dumas Beach and just when we entered there, the trash was just insane amounts, for which there is a risk to an individual’s hygiene, after seeing that I decided to join an organisation or the initiators who go for a beach cleaning campaign. Few days later, I found out SMC which is local government was organising an campaign on beach cleaning on the very convenient day itself of World Coastal Cleanup Day, as soon as i too a look on that, i undoubtedly joined SMC’s campaign to beach cleaning, and we as a team as a group took an initiative an cleaned the beach as much as we could.
When I looked back at before picture, it was so disgusting and now when I took the after picture it looks near to neat and clean, this was not only because of a part of a CAS blog but also personal experience towards beach cleanliness, and of course hygiene and safety of every individual’s health is a major concern for each and every person out there. Hence, this was a very great service I could do in order to help reduce diseases.
Learning Outcomes Catered:-
LO1 – Strength And Growth
Cleaning the beach was very responsible of me as it made me feel like i have done something for my city and be a part of a change to our society, this was the biggest strength of this patriotic experience. And ofcourse, this experience made me realize how mankind is destroying the sea life by littering all the unnecessary garbages here and there, which in turn motivated me to do this amazing cleanup campaign.
LO4 – Working Collaboratively With Others
Beach Cleaning was done through the team work of the volunteers participated there. The cleanup was only possible because of the collaborative work done by all of the participants there.
LO6- Global Engagement
As this is very clearly evident, a major concern catered here is harming sea life by creating waste inside the oceans which is then basically eaten by the sea habitants i.e., whale, fish, etc.. . To contribute to this cause, i joined an organization to collaboratively make an effort to save the marine life.
