The Dumas beach, Surat is one of the most visited places in Surat. Though being a tourism spot, it is noticed that the shore is filled of waste products. This impacts the marine life as well as leaves a poor impression on the visitors. I took a part in this initiative to cleanup the Dumas beach.

LOs Demonstrated:-

LO4:- I did show perseverance towards picking trashes on the coast of the beach where we had to walk long distances and clean varied parts of the beach shore.

LO5:- The beach as a whole can’t be cleaned by an individual so collaboration with other volunteers was an important part of the experience. We divided ourselves into groups and cleaned the beach and I demonstrated social collaboration skills.

LO6:- This experience dealt with a social issue as people pollute the beach by throwing trash near/ on the shore of the beach while visiting the same. It affects the marine life and hence a threat to environment.

LO7:- By collaborating for this campaign I was able to help the society by saving the ocean from the trashes littered by the visitors. As my choice provided benefit to the society, it will be considered ethical by contribution towards sustainability.

This CAS experience helped me understand the significance about the possible impacts that are caused by throwing trash near the beaches and provided me with the insight to take actions on the same.
