LO 4 : This year’s nature camp to Mount Abu consisted of activities like trekking, rappelling, rock climbing, and caving. This was the first time I participated in caving which requires not just physical strength but also critical thinking skills as we have to figure out ways to climb while keeping our safety in consideration. The activity that required perseverance and commitment the most was trekking as we had to walk long distances and often when we were tired there was no option to stop because we had to keep up with the rest of the group. But I soon realized that this kind of commitment is necessary especially in group settings because my actions impact everyone else who is a part of the group, for instance if I had decided to take a break someone would’ve to wait for me, this would overall slow down the group. At the end of each trek it felt really good to know that I preserved and did not give up even when I really wanted to, I felt proud of myself and it was an overall very rewarding experience especially when paired with the breath-taking views.Â
LO2 – I’d say I can commit to things once I set my mind to it, and work hard when I’ve decided that I have to. However, I have noticed that I have the tendency to leave things to the last minute or get lazy which does not showcase persistence. I should give all my tasks equal importance without procrastinating and be persistent. For instance, in a subject like Math it is more important to be regular and revise concepts on a daily basis through practice instead of just reading through the formulas on the day before the exam.Â
