Global Odessey

Students had the opportunity to see how a business is started and run at Global Odyssey 3.0. This annual event, which was held on February 23, 2023, was organized by business management and economics students as well as teachers. It had a variety of categories, including fun fashion, tasty food, and a photo booth.

LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth: I have always been interested in Food events and whenever I get the chance to put up a stall or take part, I always take the opportunity to do so. This time, I motivated my friends to join me. On our Stall, I kept Kulhad Pizza, Biscuit Pie, Ice Tea, and Sandwiches. And We used our economics and Business Management skills to calculate different costs, project revenue, calculate break-even output, etc.

LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills: We faced a challenge where because of the changes in the date of the event a team member had to leave. We faced a shortage of People and we weren’t able to manage the stall that well. But we overcame this problem by getting help from other students in certain areas. We also developed skills that are useful in the real life. While collecting money for the items that we kept, we collected change, and small notes for change and easier accounting.

LO3 – Initiate and plan a CAS experience: I proactively filled out forms and completed all the formalities to get the best food items, Categories, teams, etc. I motivated all my friends to join my team. I had done a similar event outside of school and used my prior knowledge too. I had a food stall in a flea in Surat too.

LO5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively:

Collaboration is an essential skill in today’s interconnected and complex world. When me and my friends worked together, we combined our unique talents, knowledge, and experiences to achieve our goals that may be difficult to achieve alone. Working collaboratively is an essential skill that can lead to improved creativity, and problem-solving. By developing the necessary skills and embracing the benefits of collaboration, I became a valuable team member and contributed in achieving shared goals.

I displayed the Learner profile Thinker while pondering upon what food items to keep. This was crucials as we had to test the market response and also we had to judge what is best in the school and I had to make sure everything was abiding by the school food policy.
