Cooking

Cooking has always been something I was fond off. For this experience to grow even more, I decided to join a 10 days course of multi cuisine. I joined this course with two of my cousins and experiences a lot of new things. During this period, we faced a few difficulties, but also learned many new skills. The open and down road of the experience made it very efficient and fun.

LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

I was fond of cooking since the beginning, but I wasn’t good enough. Initially, I used to be very unorganised. However, I identified my weakness and tried to improve upon it. One of my strength was to make new dishes from the existing ones. I considered this and tried out different cuisines. I took feedback from my friends and family to understand the scope of improvement.

LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

Throughout the process of cooking, I faced multiple challenges like organising myself, time management etc. During this period of learning cooking, I took all the challenges and overcome them. Initially, I was unable to make an end product because of lack of skills and experience. However, I took help of my friends and mates to overcome that and gradually improve myself.

LO3. Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience.

Since I was new to the kitchen, it was difficult for me work properly. Hence, I learned how to start working and initiating the experience. I had to go through several steps like inquiry and communicating. I had to plan the experience after checking my schedule, SA dates and other deadline. This was difficult in the start but then I took time out of my timetable.

LO4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

there were moments when i was unable to make proper dish, due to which i wanted t quit multiple times. But my friends and mate always became the motivation to continue. I completed the entire course and showed commitment during my course.

LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognise the benefits of working collaboratively

I learned how to work collaboratively with my mates. It was difficult to work with different people every time as everyone has different ways of working. But we gradually adapted to each other’s work pattern and created good work. This understanding helped in creating balance between work and provide effectiveness.
