I did an internship in Money Tree (a finance company) for a month. There I learnt a lot of aspects of how a company functions, how the economy works, about the stock market, and a lot of other things. The real life hands-on experience assisted me in equipping skills like communication, problem-solving and time-management while learning different concepts of finance. I have always been interested in economics and finance and I have always wanted to experience what finance related jobs look like to understand if I really want to pursue the same in my coming future.

LO1 – Identify your own strengths and develop areas for personal growth.

I have always had a profound interest in finance and economics, however, I never was able to find just the right resources for me to learn from. The internship allowed me to get the right resources to learn from. Moreover, my time-management skills are something that I consider as one of my strengths which helped me manage my time and complete all the tasks of internship.

LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.

I had very little knowledge about finance and grasping all the new terminologies altogether and using them was difficult and required immense amounts of hard work. Also my communication skills are not very good, this internship allowed me to to interact with different people and be able to convey my ideas in an effective manner.

LO4 – Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences.

I did an internship for a month alongside school. And sometimes it became really difficult to manage things all at once since dedicating 5-6 hours a week after school with all the assignments is tiresome and requires great perseverance. None the less I was committed throughout the internship.

LO5 – Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively.

During the internship I worked with employees of the company and the interns to acquire new knowledge and complete tasks. This helped increase my productivity throughout the internship and gain increased knowledge
