Global Odyssey is an event conducted in FHS for the 11th graders specifically for the subjects Business management and economics.This event is basically like a business fair where the students are introduced to the works of a market .I was assigned the football game in the fun part of the global odyssey where if you hit the assigned targets you can some amount of money back .At the end we had to donate some percentage of our profits .
LO1-Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
As I knew football is my forte ,I then used to think of a game and I came up with the idea of target penalties . As I had a good understanding of the pricing system I had the pricing set such that people would be inclined to play the game .But the catch here was it was hard to hit these targets hence the money was in our favor . The areas of growth would be I should have planned the game 1 week prior to the event , me procrastinating the work led to last minute decisions and then coming to this idea .
LO2-Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
The challenges were to attract people to put in their money to play the game and that’s where me convince people with the greed of money and also the pricing helped me attract people.The skills I developed here were self management skills and understanding the market much better as I was running in solo hence it would take a lot of effort for me to put into .
LO3-Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience
The event would come into the service sector .But mainly this CAS experience had some personal benefits such as experience in the works of a market,price mechanism ,attracting customers and much more .
LO6-Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance
The engagement with issues of global significance here is that we donate some of our money ,basically some percentage of our profits to the underprivileged community.This would help them gain some finance and help themselves . the amount would total out from each sector FUN,FOOD and fashion and collectively then donated .
