Global Odyssey 3.0 – Accounts and Food Team

I was a member of the Global Odyssey 3.0 event’s Accounts and FoodTeam, where we were all in charge of the funds during the event.

LO-3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

As members of the organizing committee, we embarked on thorough preparations well in advance, fully aware of the challenges posed by orchestrating an event of this scale. This endeavor demanded meticulous planning, entailing a comprehensive evaluation of numerous potential approaches. In one instance, we devised a coupon system to facilitate transactions at the event, contemplating the elimination of cash transactions entirely. However, after a careful assessment of the potential pitfalls, we ultimately reverted to the use of cash for all transactions. Our planning efforts extended to the management of food stalls as well. To ensure the event’s resounding success, the entire organizing team dedicated significant time and energy to its meticulous arrangement.

LO-5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively

Being part of a substantial organizing committee, my role demanded seamless teamwork. This necessitated efficient communication and collaboration to enable decision-making that considered diverse perspectives. Moreover, it was essential to ensure that every team member comprehended their individual responsibilities thoroughly to execute them effectively. This collaborative effort extended to the management of food stalls, where coordination played a crucial role in ensuring the event’s overall success.

LO-6: Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance

Within the occasion, we indeed centered on locks in with issues of worldwide importance, where we catered to the SDG ‘Responsible Utilization and Production’ as we attempted to diminish superfluous utilization by limiting the utilization of non-reusable spoons, plates, and glasses, through which we catered to the maintainability angle.
