Rubik’s cube, the only place where separating colors gets you praised but unlike the real world, it’s not as easy. I have always been in a battle with this cube and was neer able to solve it and eventually quit it. Because of CAS, I was able to find time again and use it as an opportunity to finally win my battle over rubik’s cube. However this time I came in prepared.
I saw this video by the channel “The Cubicle” https://youtu.be/1t1OL2zN0LQ
This video taught me the fundamentals and showed me what I was lacking. This dalls under creativity and activity as nothing is more creative than 6 colors together while this being a competitive sport. The video taught me that even in solving the rubik’s cube there are algorithms which surprised me. Most common algorith being righty alg.
I followed the video
I made the first layer pretty easily but I started to face challenges on the second layer which included the use of algorithms and patterns
I managed to put the pieces on the correct spot but they weren’t on the correct side which made me go back to the video and correct my mistake.
I struggled in 3rd and 4th step where I had to make a yellow “plus sign(+)” and after that I had to switch the corners as they were in the wrong spot
Â
5th step was easy in which I had to twist the corners using algorithm, and it used only 1 algorith repeatedly.
which took me to this situation
One middle piece, which was pretty easy and I solved it as by this step algorithms were clear to me
It happened, I finally won my years long battle over rubik’s cube and I was able to separate the colors.
Learning outcomes –
LO 2 – I wasn’t familiar to “Solve” the cube and I wasn’t familiar with any sort of algorithms used and what finger you use to turn different sides of the cube.
LO 5 – I showed commitment to solving the cube as I kept on making mistakes but I was persistent and eventually solved it.
