FSMUN 9.0 IP

I participated in FSMUN 9.0 as an International Press delegate. Being a part of this committee gave me the opportunity to hear all the debates from every other committee, which allowed me to write a newsletter about them because we were assigned to write a newsletter.  All the delegates prepared for the debates and very well researched about the agenda of their committee and hearing those debates helped me gain knowledge and interesting facts and increased my general knowledge as well. All these things helped me get a real life example of how things work in Lok Sabha or any other UN committee.

In the IP committee, we needed to engage in collaborative efforts to disseminate news to all the other committees. We shared our photographs and headline updates, ensuring that each delegate had access to an engaging newsletter, contributing to the overall success of the committee. During our press conferences, it was essential for everyone to cooperate in crafting and posing questions in a strategic manner, with the aim of exerting pressure on opposing delegates. Thus, teamwork played a pivotal role in the functioning of my committee

The subject of discussion in the Lok Sabha (my designated committee) revolved around the rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits and their treatment in Kashmir during the conflict between India and Pakistan for control over the region. Our conversation centered on their living conditions, human rights, and the quest for a resolution to the ongoing issue. This is a matter of global significance since it is essential that everyone’s rights are upheld, and amidst the India-Pakistan conflict for control over Kashmir, it was the Kashmiri Pandits who endured the most suffering.

In my opinion, relying on the members of the Lok Sabha to determine the future of all Kashmiri Pandits, whether their decisions are right or wrong, seems unethical. While this is just a hypothetical model, it mirrors how real-life decisions are sometimes made, and it raises ethical concerns despite their importance.

Overall, this CAS experience helped me learn a new writing skill and enhanced my skills of writing by writing a newsletter. I also met a lot of new people during the experience made acquaintances. Even the socials was a great opportunity for the same.
