World Coastal Cleanup Day!

There was a coastal clean-up drive held on the occasion of World coastal cleanup day by SMC and other climate activist organisations that took place on Dariya Ganesh Beach (Dumas Beach). I also participated in this drive to help clean the beach. The campaign’s motto was focused on gathering non-biodegradable waste and ensuring the safe disposal of the collected materials without causing harm to the environment or water bodies.

Perseverance played a crucial role in successfully completing my CAS (Creativity, Activity, and Service) experience, particularly because it involved collecting trash from various sections of the beach, necessitating extensive travel over long distances on the shoreline. It demanded significant and sweat-inducing efforts as well.

LO-5

Because cleaning the beach was an unattainable task for a single person, I had to collaborate with a group to achieve Learning Outcome 5. To enhance the organization and efficiency of the beach cleaning process, we delegated specific tasks among ourselves. Engaging with my group members was essential to streamline the beach cleaning process, and this experience significantly contributed to the development of my communication and collaboration skills.

LO-6

I attained Learning Outcome 6 by participating in beach cleanup activities, as it provided me with an opportunity to connect with a significant global concern while simultaneously addressing the problem of beach litter. The presence of waste on the beach contributes to environmental pollution, a pressing issue that affects regions across the globe.
