I choose this event since frisbee has always been a hobby of mine. I’ve been participating in the sport for a long time. So, when my school offered the possibility for disadvantaged students to experience the sport that has positively impacted me in many ways, I volunteered without thinking twice. I was one of the few volunteers in charge of teaching the sport of frisbee to kids from the nearby village schools who had come to play and learn it.
Learning objective 1
I learned from the experience of instructing the kids numerous times that even while I am more than competent at playing frisbee, it does not follow that I will be able to instruct the sport. The encounter taught me that I must improve my ability to impart my knowledge to the youngsters. While playing well is one thing, teaching well is an entirely different ability that I gained as a result of my CAS experience.
Leaning objective 3 and 5
Being one of the few experienced players, I was also in charge of organising the exercises and lesson plans for each session. Using my knowledge of the sport from previous experience, I had to choose the exercise that would be most useful for the children’s ability level. I had to provide the same information with the other volunteers and work together with them to supervise all of the kids we had to teach. Such easy communication made it much easier for us to utilise our time effectively.
Learning objective 6
Everybody deserves a high-quality education. They will have a broader perspective on how to think critically under pressure by playing frisbee. Frisbee will also help them maintain their health and expose them to new opportunities in terms of physical and mental education.
Learning objective 4
Teaching kids frisbee over three consecutive weekends demands significant effort, consistency, and commitment. It entails imparting skills, maintaining their engagement, building confidence, and addressing challenges. By ensuring regular, focused instruction, instructors help children progress steadily, reinforcing learning and teamwork. Dedication and a structured approach are vital to making the learning experience enjoyable and effective.
