As a Grade 12 student, my role in organizing the Freshers’ event for Grade 11, introducing them to the Diploma Programme (DP), was a defining CAS experience. Through dance, interactive activities, and teamwork, we commenced the academic year on a vibrant note, fostering both creativity and activity.
My commitment and perseverance throughout the event’s planning and execution highlighted my dedication to its success, reinforcing my resilience in the face of challenges.
LO2 –
Organizing the Freshers’ event was indeed a challenge that pushed me to acquire new skills. From event planning to problem-solving, I developed a range of competencies during this experience. We encountered various challenges, including unexpected changes and logistical hiccups, but through creative problem-solving and adaptability, we overcame them, enhancing my skill set in the process.
LO3 –
The inception and detailed planning of the entire event, from conceptualizing the Freshers’ event to mapping out the games and dances, was the result of our initiative and planning. Taking the lead in proposing and developing this idea was a testament to our ability to initiate a CAS experience from scratch, showcasing our dedication to enriching the school community.
LO4 –
Throughout the planning and execution of the Freshers’ event, my commitment and perseverance shone brightly. Despite the challenges that inevitably arose, such as logistical issues and last-minute changes to the decor, I remained steadfast in my dedication to the event’s success. This experience reaffirmed my belief in the importance of staying committed and pushing forward even when faced with obstacles, showcasing my resilience in the face of adversity.
LO5 –
Planning and executing an event of this magnitude demanded seamless collaboration with peers and teachers. By effectively coordinating efforts and ensuring alignment towards our common goal, we demonstrated the power of teamwork. Specific roles were assigned based on each team member’s strengths, creating a harmonious collaboration. This experience underscored my ability to harness the collective skills of a diverse group, emphasizing the benefits of collaborative efforts in achieving our shared objectives.
