I always had a desire to host a gaming event, and this opportunity allowed me to fulfill that dream. Initially, I believed it would be a straightforward process, assuming that once the event was planned, it would be a great success. However, I quickly realized that there were numerous valuable lessons to be learned from this project.
LO’s met:-
LO 1: Organizing the BGMI tournament helped me identify my strengths in event planning, communication, and leadership. It also highlighted areas where I needed improvement, such as time management and problem-solving. This experience led to increased self-awareness and motivated me to set personal development goals to enhance my skills.
LO 2: Overcoming challenges in fundraising and player recruitment proved to be a significant aspect of the BGMI tournament. These obstacles forced me to develop negotiation and persuasion skills. I had to think creatively, seeking sponsorships and implementing marketing strategies to attract participants. These challenges provided opportunities for personal growth and skill development.
LO 3: Coordinating the BGMI tournament felt like turning an idea into reality. It required defining objectives, planning logistics, securing finances, and recruiting players. While some aspects encountered obstacles, such as securing sufficient funds or finding players, I learned to problem-solve and adjust my plans. It was akin to assembling a puzzle, where I had to align various elements to make the tournament happen. Learning Outcome 3 underscores the importance of planning, adaptability, and persistence in bringing ideas to fruition.
LO 4: The challenges I encountered when collecting funds and recruiting players for the BGMI tournament demanded unwavering commitment and determination. There were moments when it felt discouraging, but my steadfast resolve to secure resources and participants demonstrated my dedication to making the tournament a success. These additional obstacles highlighted the importance of being resilient, resourceful, and adaptable in my CAS experience. They underscored the value of persistence and determination in the face of challenges.
LO 5: The BGMI tournament placed a strong emphasis on teamwork and cooperation. I had the opportunity to collaborate closely with my friends, dedicated volunteers, and all the players involved. This experience significantly enhanced my ability to work effectively within a team and communicate clearly with everyone. What was particularly impressive was that when we united and combined our abilities, the results exceeded our expectations. It felt like being part of a tightly-knit gaming community, and our collective teamwork was the key to the tournament’s success. This sense of unity not only improved our capabilities but also heightened the overall enjoyment of the event.
LO 7: Ethical values played a crucial role in organizing the BGMI tournament. Ensuring fairness and transparency was a top priority, with a commitment to implementing clear rules that prevented any unfair advantages. Responsible event management was upheld, prioritizing the safety and well-being of participants while managing resources judiciously. In summary, organizing a tournament is no easy task, especially when it comes to collecting payments from a large number of players. Thankfully, having my friends alongside me in this project made it more manageable, but I acknowledge that more thorough planning will be necessary for future endeavors.
