Teachers Day is a one day where we get a chance to do something for our teachers and express our appreciation towards them, it is a very fun celebration where we perform for our teachers and make them play interesting games to let them unwind from all the work they do every day. The goal for this experience was to create an environment where the teachers could relax and be themselves and also show them our skills. This is also a great way to acknowledge and appreciate the efforts that they make towards us throughout the year, whether it be helping us or guiding us. We dedicate a full day to them and plan every bit of it.
LO3 – Initiate and plan a CAS experience
During this experience I got the opportunity to initiate ideas and plan a few segments that would be shown to the teachers, it made me learn the importance of having a leadership skill and how important it is to have that skill. We all pitched in ideas and got to execute it accordingly, it was a new learning experience as I have never conducted or initiated a plan, learning what all things to keep in mind and how everything should be done was a task but it made me learn a lot.
LO5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively
Since owning leadership and initiating plans need to be working in teams, this experience made me realise how working and collaborating in a team makes the work 100x easier and fun, one of the benefits of working in a team is that fresh ideas will always be coming up, some better than before making the segment even more interactive and fun, for example, a few days before the celebration one of the team members decided to add a stand-up segment at the end, that segment was one of the segments where the teachers laughed the most and had so much fun, this made me learn to always listen to people’s ideas and letting them and me demonstrate our skills.
The whole experience was so wholesome and fun, it was a great way to appreciate our teachers on all the efforts they make towrds us, this experience also made me realise and learn a lot about leadership and working in a team.
