RUBIKS CUBE CLUB (CAS PROJECT)


Over an extended period, my fascination with Rubik’s Cubes fueled a relentless pursuit of knowledge about their diverse types and intricate mechanisms. As I delved deeper into this realm, I successfully tackled various cube variants, yet my thirst for learning remained unquenchable. During this journey, I felt compelled to establish a Rubik’s Cube club in my school, driven by the desire to not only satisfy my curiosity but also to offer fellow enthusiasts the chance to explore the mysteries of these captivating puzzles, an opportunity they had not encountered before.

LO 1: Recognize personal strengths and areas for growth

Initially, I acknowledged my strengths, rooted in my extensive knowledge of various Rubik’s Cube variants, ranging from the 3×3 to the 4×4, 5×5, and beyond. However, I was keenly aware that there was still much more to learn in this fascinating domain. Additionally, I understood the importance of developing critical skills, such as communication, crucial for my role as a Rubik’s Cube enthusiast and club founder.

LO 2: Showcase the undertaking of challenges and the development of new skills

Throughout the journey, I faced several challenges, each presenting unique hurdles to overcome. These obstacles included organizing and structuring the club logistically, attracting like-minded individuals initially, devising an effective teaching methodology for introducing cube-solving, compiling strategies to impart valuable knowledge, and meticulously preparing topics and content for the club’s educational framework.

LO 3: Illustrate the initiation and planning of a CAS experience

LO3: Introducing me to the world of solving various cubes, my friend, the club’s creator, kickstarted our venture. They introduced me to the timeless 3×3 Rubik’s Cube and played a crucial role in establishing our club. Collaboratively, we delved into the complexities of arranging gatherings and educational sessions, demanding careful scheduling, goal establishment, and the promotion of inclusivity. This journey instilled within me the significance of comprehensive planning and effective coordination.

In wrapping up this journey through Rubik’s Cubes, it’s clear that solving these puzzles has been more than just a fun activity. It’s been a catalyst for personal growth, honing my problem-solving skills, and strengthening my commitment. With my friend’s guidance, I’ve tackled not only the classic 3×3 Rubik’s Cube but also its variations, from the 2×2 to the 5×5 and even the perplexing Mirror Cube. This journey has expanded my horizons and deepened our friendship. As I look back, I’m excited to carry these lessons of perseverance, planning, and collaboration into the next adventures life has in store.
