Trip to Mount Abu

In December 2022, we journeyed to Mount Abu, a highland village nestled in the Aravalli Range of Rajasthan, in western India. The adventure encompassed activities such as trekking, mountain climbing, caving, and various challenging pursuits that not only made the event memorable but also significantly contributed to shaping my learner character as a Risk-taker. These experiences taught me to confront challenges head-on and to approach them with careful planning.

Learning Outcomes:

LO-1: Identifying Own Strengths and Developing Areas for Growth

As a novice in such expeditions, I entered with uncertainty. During activities like hiking, rock climbing, and rappelling, I concentrated on understanding the methods involved. Acknowledging my limitations allowed me to transform them into strengths, contributing to personal growth.

LOI-2: Demonstrating Undertaken Challenges and Developing New Skills

The initial excursion posed challenges, but I viewed it as an opportunity to acquire essential skills. Understanding that subsequent journeys would be more demanding, I persevered, maintaining enthusiasm throughout the adventures.

LO-4: Showing Commitment and Perseverance in CAS Experiences

Encountering environmental and topographical challenges during the journey tested my commitment. Despite difficulties, I demonstrated unwavering determination, courageously navigating diverse terrains. In moments of difficulty during mountain climbing, I held firm to my resolve rather than yielding.

LO-5: Demonstrating Collaborative Work Skills and Recognizing Benefits

Post-journey, organizers facilitated team activities, fostering collaborative skills. Even teachers participated, heightening our enthusiasm. Effectively refining my abilities, I learned the value of teamwork in achieving tasks swiftly and efficiently.

LO-7: Recognizing and Considering the Ethics of Choices and Actions

Mount Abu’s tourism industry boosts local income but poses threats to natural beauty and ecosystems. Mindful of this, we conscientiously managed resources, carried a plastic bag to collect trash, and avoided littering and water waste. Witnessing everyone taking responsibility for potential harm to the ecosystem was heartening.
