Karate-activity

Throughout my twelve years of karate practice, I have gained a great deal of knowledge. I gained knowledge of kata, which are coordinated movement patterns or fighting styles that may be practiced in a group or alone, and kumite, which is freestyle fighting. Furthermore, I took part in competitions where I learned many lessons that improved my kata and kumite skills. Most significantly, I gained discipline, which is currently beneficial to me.

LO2- Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills

One of my favourite tournaments took place in Baroda from December 1st to December 3rd, 2022. I had corn in my legs, which made it difficult for me to consistently jump as required in kumite. As a result, I finished second in kumite instead of first, which really disturbed me. Upon discussing the matter with Sir, he advised me to remain resolute and not give up quickly. When I had team Kata on December 2nd, I made a commitment to myself to give it my all and to ignore my corn pain. It was incredibly effective because I placed first.I learned skill of determination.

LO3 – Initiate and plan a CAS experience

Although I had studies going on I planned my schedule with help of counsellor so that i can balance between studies and karate. The schedule really help me to use my free time where I used to go to class and practiced for kumite and kata which was really helpful because of planning I would able to banmnce both of the things.

LO 4- Shows commitment and perseverance in case experience

Commitment Despite the excruciating pain I was in from having corn in my legs, I persevered because I wanted to win and I didn’t want to disappoint my sir. I came in second in Kumite, but I made a self-promise to myself that I wouldn’t give up and would place first in team Kata. Since my kata tournament was on the second, I spent all of my practice time on the first and ultimately placed second. Perseverance, since I used to attend karate classes every day and never missed a class. must practise a lot, and I succeeded in the end.
