Plantation Drive

The experience of planting saplings with a group of 15-20 friends and an NGO dedicated to environmental conservation was truly enriching on multiple levels. As we worked together to dig holes, place the saplings, and nurture them into the ground, we bonded over our shared commitment to the environment. Each step of the process offered us valuable insights into the intricate ways in which plants grow and thrive. From learning about the different species of trees to understanding the importance of soil composition and watering techniques, every moment was an opportunity for discovery and learning.

Moreover, the sense of camaraderie that permeated throughout the planting drive was palpable. We cheered each other on as we planted tree after tree, knowing that our collective efforts were contributing to a greener and healthier planet. The NGO’s expertise and guidance were invaluable, providing us with practical knowledge and tips that will undoubtedly inform our future endeavors in environmental stewardship.

Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively. = everyone had a specific role to play in the

planting process! Each task, whether it was digging holes, bringing plants, watering them, or any other

responsibility, was crucial to the success of the endeavor. My role in digging ensured that the saplings

had a suitable environment to take root and thrive. Meanwhile, my friends who brought the plants and

watered them played essential roles in ensuring that the saplings were properly cared for and nurtured.

LO6 – Engagement with issues of global significance – With the increasing threat of global warming

and environmental degradation, the importance of planting trees cannot be overstated. Trees play a

balance and supporting life on our planet. They release oxygen, purify the air we breathe, prevent soil

erosion, provide habitat for wildlife, and contribute to the overall health of ecosystems.
