Nature Camp [Mt. Abu]

I visited Mount Abu for an  educational nature camp . We participated in  numerous treks , caving, and other adventurous activities throughout this trip. Being an adventurous person myself  , I have already done few trekking trips in past but after pandemic this was my first trekking trip . Getting away from mundane life in the nature with my  friends has been surprisingly relaxing and fun.

LO1 : Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

As a lot of activities required physical fitness and determination to complete them , it was quite a task to compete them. While doing them I became more aware of my own strengths and potential areas of improvement  As the weather shifts during treks, it was difficult to deal with the fact that when we started in the afternoon, it was quite hot and exhausting, and by the time we finished, it was freezing.

LO2 : Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills

The challenge for me were not the activities , but not getting hurt while doing them was a challenge as I have gotten hurt in past due to being a bit overexcited and pacing through things . So during treks I had to be aware about my surroundings and placing your footsteps as their were a bit stumbly rocks . The skills I developed was being patient and careful during  the activities. As the treks were long I realize how I need to save my energy and how much mentally fit I  have to be to complete these activities.

LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience.

I had to be very persistent and determinant as this treks were long and a bit challenging. Although I was able to complete them .The beautiful views from the top of the golden chimney and morning sunrises and the mountains  made it definitely worthwhile. It was a commitment in a sense as I had to wake up at 6:30 in the morning everyday which required going to bed early so the change in the sleeping schedule was quite a task.

Overall , the camp was fun and adventurous. As usually everyday we are too much consumed in phones  and technological devices , so going on this trip made me realize how effective digital detox could be and it is necessary to spend time off it . The learner profile I demonstrated was of risk taker , as doing this challenging treks and activities such as rock climbing there is a risk of getting hurt but the views and the sense of accomplishment makes up for it.
