I had recently been to one of the cleaning drives initiated by Surat Municipal Corporation which was know as ‘world costal day cleaning up “ where we were supposed to clean the waste near the water bodies of Dumas Beach in Surat. In addition to the problem of excess stacking of waste near beaches is due to the fact that it is the most visited place by the local community.
LO 4 : Commitment being the most important factor which was needed to be ensured throughout the duration of the beach cleaning drive unless and until we don’t set a goal for the drive it will be useless for our personal development and even for the motivation of the drive which we were working onto .To ensure the same I had limited myself from talking with my peers and indulging in any such activities which hinders the effectiveness of the cleaning , which includes the feeling of disgust when we involve in cleaning the wastage .To overcome this problem I decided to not let that bother me even though I was not so happy with the thought yet considering the fact that the wastage may have several problems to the society and other stakeholders I had taken the step .
LO 5 : Cleaning the entire beach was not an easy job alone , hence we made ourselves divided in some groups which made the drive move flowless and quick . The collaboration helped us in sense of dividing the work of an particular area and collecting the garbage with help of each other .
LO 6 : The significance of the drive was pretty clear and the reason was quite evident since the beginning of the event , majorly the reason of the spread of garbage is due to the irregular disposal of eateries and other beverages . Which are used on the beach which leads to many kinds of diseases and thoroughly leaves an drastic impact on the environment .for example- The used objects are left on the soil which leads to interaction with water which not only leaves the objects litter around but also draws an wide impact on the marine life .Thus trash loaded beaches are a slow poison for sustainability and SGD’s .
LO 7 : Considering the wide littering of garbage all around the world and the beaches this lead me think on an global grounds and ponder what would happen if this practice continues further . Hence in order to correct our mistakes and leading the world to an new and garbage free future I decided to engage in the Beach cleaning drive .
