Garba Fest

Garba evening is hosted every year in our school, as a way to bring everyone together and just enjoy dancing with peers and teachers. This day is looked upon by some when they would get to enjoy it with their friends and dress up in traditional jewelry and flowy outfits. I contributed to this event by being a co-host. There were several responsibilities such as planning the decoration, participation forms, and arranging food stalls. These tasks were time-engaging as I had several early-ins to make sure this event ran smoothly.

LO1: “Identify your own strengths and develop areas for growth.”
I discovered my own strengths in leadership that allowed me to get the work done on time. I also got an opportunity to develop areas for growth such as coordinating with people and dividing responsibilities instead of handling them on my own.

LO3: “Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience.”
To make the event run smoothly, we organized our work into different categories and planned our schedule accordingly to complete everything on time. Although it was a little difficult to come up with as everyone had different interests and there were some tasks that could only be done in school. Our timetables also clashed a lot so we had trouble planning a meeting without coming in early inns.

LO5: “Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively.”
By being the co-host, there was no one task to be done but several to be kept in check. Working as a team was beneficial as the work was divided and receiving different opinions allowed for something unique to materialize.
