Trekking & Rappelling (6th Experience)

For our Grade 11 educational trip, we visited the Ancient Indian Aravali Range. There, we learned various skills, including trekking, rock climbing, rappelling, and caving. The trip was a marvelous opportunity to learn in the lap of nature. I decided to be a part of the educational trip because of my philosophical realization that reality is not in my books alone. Therefore, I decided to use this trip to explore the world and spend some time in it. The trip had many treks, including the Golden Horn trek, the trip’s highlight. We also discovered fascinating ecology, geography, orology, and biology facts.

LO4:

I had never trekked before. I was terrified of the narrow, steep hills during the day and the darkening environment during the night. The CAS experience forced me to persevere through these difficulties. The most extended trek was eleven kilometers. Sustaining through it drained every ounce of strength, but I continued since I knew it was necessary for my health.

LO7:

While trekking, I was disturbed by the natural habitats we bothered. These were the lands of cows, bears, and birds. We were disturbing the peaceful wildlife and their peaceful existence for pleasure and thrill. I felt guilty while enjoying the cold wind there, which, in reality, I had no right over as monkeys were shouted away from our lunch area.

The experience helped me rest, enjoy the wildlife, and experience a few peaceful and pleasant moments from my academic life.
