The world clean up day was held by the SMC (local government) on 17th September 2022. It was about going to a beach and cleaning all the trash lying on the sand and/or near the water thrown by people carelessly. School had taken an initiative because of which, the uniforms were required for the students.

Learning outcomes which were showcased during this service :

4th learning outcome – we as students collaborated with each other and made teams so that we could cater to different areas of beach to clean it up. Example: one person holding the plastic bag for putting all the trash inside, few people cleaning the beach.

5th learning outcome – showed perseverance and commitment during the task because we cleaned whatever was lying on the beach ie; plastic and glass bottles, paper plates and straws, pieces of footwear, etc. At the same time we also walked long distances.

7th learning outcome – I recognized the ethics of choices and action by considering to clean the beach and save the natural environment (ocean). protecting it from the pollutants thrown by us humans. Because of which it helped us sustain local natural habitat.

This CAS experience helped me get an overall view of pollution created by humans, that whatever actions and choices we make has a negative impact on the environment, so if we are harming the planet, we should also take steps and some actions we could make it a better place as well as contribute towards it.
