Beach Cleaning

On the day of the coastal cleanup, my friends and I took part in a cleanup event at Dumas Beach where we concentrated on cleaning the beach while having fun because there were numerous activities and a band to perform and motivate us. We made an effort to gather the rubbish from several beachfront locations.

LO’s met:-

LO2-[Demonstrate that they have undertaken challenges, developing new skills in the process.]

I faced several difficulties when learning new skills since sometimes the trash was too large to collect, like certain bags, and other times it was buried underground and completely immobile, making it impossible to remove.

LO4-[Show commitment to and perseverance in their CAS experiences.]

I demonstrated perseverance and devotion to my CAS experience by collecting trash from the beachside. I did not just collect small trash; I also collected large waste, such as bottles, and I did this for a solid two hours.

LO5-[Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively.]

I was able to recognize the advantages of teamwork because, while I couldn’t collect much trash by me, working with my peers as a team allowed us to collect a lot more rubbish.

LO6-[Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance.]

By gathering trash from the coastline, I was able to show that there is a global problem with littering. Particularly, littering close to the ocean is terrible for the ecosystem since it might wind up in the water, where animals may eat it without realising the consequences and perish.

This CAS experience has helped me realise that how much harm are we doing to the environment and not even realising as some trash that I picked up was at least 10 years old and it was still in a good shape which symbolises that how much time does just I piece of trash take to dissolve in the environment so this experience taught me a lesson and much more.
