Gym Training ( Activity )

Being a fitness freak , my health is my top priority. I have been exercising and focusing on my health since I was 12 years old , but I never experienced gym training and hence I wanted to embark on this new journey. For this experience I attended gym sessions 5 days a week for 2 to 3 months.

The changes I saw were very positive. I felt energetic throughout the day , I was more focused and more work driven . While people have the misconception that gym is just for growing strength and muscle , I worked on my stability , endurance , mobility , flexibility and control.

This CAS experience was a success and despite achieving my goal , I am still continuing gym training consistently .

This learning outcome was crucial in order to initiate my CAS experience. I had to learn about myself , my strengths and my weaknesses. I knew I was physically capable , but I needed to commit to this experience and not give up . I had to learn to learn for my gym trainer and not grow just physically but mentally too in order to make an overall change in my daily life .

My Biggest motivation to go to the gym was to learn something new , hence i choose Crossfit training. With compound movements I also learned new explosive movements which helped me develop new skills like stability . Exercises like Snatch , Power clean , Clean and squat etc , are just some examples of exercises that were completely new to me and hence were a challenge to learn.

Initiating the cas plan here was important so that I could manage my time so that it doesn’t affect my studies as well . Also resting days were also scheduled for adequate recovery of the muscles . For example while planning for this experience I decided to start by taking 2 rest days in a week . Then when I was used to the gym training I started taking only 1 rest day . Hence planning was crucial in this experience to get the maximum and accurate results .

Gym Training , although growing popular in the society , was a new experience for me and hence for me it took a lot of perseverance and commitment to stay consistent . The first few weeks were very hard as my body used to be sore and I would roam around my house with ice packs , healing those sore parts. Yet everyday going to the gym and commiting to a long term effect was very difficult . There were some days where I gave up and skipped the gym , but that just motivated me more to go to the gym the other day .
