I’ve always been an adventurous person who enjoys nature, learning about it, and discovering new things. Our vision is limited to certain things, but there is more that we can see. With this in mind, I want to see more, explore more, and acquire new knowledge. We engaged in activities like caving, rock climbing, rappelling, and tracking which I had never done before.
LO 2 : Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.Â
The challenge was in the caving part, not the track or the activities. The narrow, dark caverns we had to pass through to get to the other side were a challenge for me since I felt claustrophobic. Additionally, this was something I had never done before. I had no option but to accept the challenge once I had entered the cave. By accepting this challenge, I acquired a new skill and gained more knowledge about caving.
LO 4 :Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences.Â
It was a long trip, so I had to be really tenacious and patient while I was on track. Trekking was worth it because of the views we got to see at the pick point. It required dedication since I had to walk the distance despite experiencing leg pain to get there.
LO 5 :Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively.
Working together makes the road less challenging since we have many people to help us. Despite the lengthy route and the long trails, getting to the pick-point was simple since the people around us inspired us and made the journey worthwhile. The path is simpler if we have someone to encourage or support us.
The Nature camp was fun and adventurous. We learned new things everyday while being there. There was no use of technology in these 5 days which made me realise that there is a lot more than the digital world. The learner profile I displayed was a risk taker, while doing these activities I took the risk and came to an outcome.Â
