Creative Mela (C)

Creative mela helped me share my love of calligraphy with my juniors. Caligraphy has always helped me express myself. This event helped me reconnect with the art of writing years later as I first started learning it when I was in grade 5, which is around 6 years ago.  

Caligraphy has been relaxing and a stress release for me, it makes me feel refreshed. Sharing the same learning with my juniors and seeing a smile on their face made this whole event worth it. 

LO1 – [identify own strengths and develop areas for growth]

I reconnected with the art of calligraphy after 6 years, but I remembered most of it and I could still do caligraphy to an extent. However, I developed areas of growth, and for obvious reasons, I could not get the same results as before. 

LO2 – [demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process]

Not being in practice for around 6 years and still agreeing to teach calligraphy shows I was a risk-taker. I took this challenge as an opportunity to remind myself of this lost art and reconnect with the same. I developed new skills like communication skills by communicating this art to my juniors. I also volunteered to help with the decor, which is a new skill that

LO5 – [demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working together]

I was more than lucky to work with my best friend to share this learning with the juniors of our school. We made a great team and were very effective. I could clearly see the importance and benefits of working together, it makes everything easier. I developed social skills as I communicated with other students as well as the school staff.

In conclusion, This CAS experience reminded me of a skill I had forgotten. It helped me develop various skills while sharing my learnings to my juniors.
