As the popularity of video editing continues to rise, I was curious to see what all the buzz was about. It was a fantastic chance for me to test my abilities and discover my own creative potential because the course only lasted three to four weeks. I thought the course was a great opportunity to develop my artistic side while also learning new technical skills. I liked learning new ways to realize my vision as the process of transforming unpolished raw footage into a polished finished product was both difficult and enjoyable.

LO 1 - Identify own strengths and develop areas of growth

My love for video editing, which I was able to foster through CAS projects, has been one of my assets. I’ve been able to exercise my creativity and attention to detail while working on video editing tasks, as well as improve my technical abilities with industry-standard software.

I have, however, also noted opportunities for improvement in this procedure. For instance, I now know that audio and pacing are just as important to successful storytelling as the visuals. In order to better convey my thoughts through video, I have been working on enhancing my abilities in audio editing and sound design.

lo 2 -Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.

I had never used any kind of digital media before, so this was totally new to me. But I was resolved to learn, so I looked into it and tried out various programs and methods until I started to feel more assured in my skills.I eventually learned new techniques for editing, color correction, and sound design, as well as began to experiment with more complex methods like motion graphics and visual effects. Along the process, I also gained a fresh appreciation for the skill of storytelling and filmmaking.Through this experience, I realized that accepting challenges can be both intimidating and satisfying, and that by being persistent, patient, and open to learning, we can acquire new abilities and skills that we had never imagined possible.

Lo 4 -Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

I’ve discovered the value of dedication and perseverance while working as a film editor for the CAS . I soon realized when I first started this job that making high-quality videos required a lot of time and effort. There were times when I wanted to give up, particularly when dealing with difficult technical issues or pressing schedules. But I quickly understood that the pride and fulfillment that came from making a great video made the work worthwhile.Because of my work as a video editor, I’ve learned to stick with a job even when things get challenging. I’ve also grown more resilient, overcoming challenges to create a final product that everyone is proud of. These abilities have helped me remain motivated and focused in everything I do in other areas of my life. I’m appreciative that my CAS encounters gave me the chance to hone these skills.

Overall –

My overall CAS experiences have been incredibly enriching, but one that stands out is my experience with video editing as part of CAS.While all of my CAS experiences have been extremely enriching, my involvement in video editing as part of CAS sticks out. It was a difficult undertaking that took a lot of time and work, but I really enjoyed the creative process. I acquired the skills necessary to edit and create a high-quality movie using a variety of software tools.Through this experience, I also developed a better understanding of the value of extreme attention to detail and the significance of visual storytelling. Overall, this CAS experience has enhanced my creativity and critical thinking abilities while also assisting me in honing my technological video editing skills.
