Trekking – Activity

Trekking is an activity of long-distance hiking or walking that normally entails multi-day journeys thru natural environments along with forests, mountains, and desolate tract areas. It can be a challenging and profitable revel in that permits trekkers to hook up with nature, check their bodily and intellectual limits, and gain a sense of feat.

Trekking regularly calls for bodily persistence, in addition to proper gear and coaching to deal with the terrain, climate conditions, and capability risks worried. It can also provide possibilities to appreciate the splendor of nature, revel in new cultures, and venture oneself both mentally and physically.

During the month of december, my school had planned an educational trip to the hill station Mount Abu which is situated in the state of Rajasthan. It was planned to be a 5 day trip packed with adventures and fun. The best thing about this trip was the activities that we were going to do in them. Trekking was a major part of it. We went on 2 major treks, Mowgli Land Trek and Golden horn chimney trek which were 6 kms and 11 kms respectfully.

Through this wonderful journey the LOs that I catered to were –

LO2 – Though I work out regularly, trekking was a challenge for me. The distance wasn’t the main problem as I am pretty active and used to it but the inclination and the surface. I am used to walking on flat land for such long distances but the trek that I was going to do was very steep so climbing it for long distances was a task as I wasn’t used to it. what made it even worse was the surface that I was trekking on. It was covered with mud and stones which made me stumble few times. I had to be really careful and keep my balance throughout to make sure I can climb it safely.

LO4 – In order to complete these treks I had to show a lot of commitment and perseverance as they weren’t a walk in the park. Before The trek even started, I had to wake up really early, get ready, do a set warm up that consisted of light jogging, stretching and few more exercises. Also the whole time I had to carry a heavy bag consisting of food, water, trekking gear, etc. There were many instances through out the trek where I felt like taking a break or stopping but then I motivated myself to keep on going.

Overall, This experience made me overcome both mental and physical obstacles to reach a desired goal. It also connected me greatly to nature and mother earth and helped me admire its beauty.
