Community service (Service)

I had the opportunity to participate in community service by teaching art and craft to underprivileged children. It was a truly rewarding experience that taught me so much about the power of education and the importance of giving back to the community. The children I worked with were so enthusiastic and eager to learn. They were always excited to try new things and experiment with different materials. It was amazing to see their creativity and imagination at work. It was also incredibly fun to interact with the children. They had a great sense of humor and were always laughing and joking around. It was a reminder that despite their difficult circumstances, they were still children who loved to have fun and enjoy life. One of the most rewarding aspects of the experience was seeing how quickly the children learned. They were so smart and picked up new skills and techniques in no time. It was inspiring to see their growth and development. But perhaps the most important lesson I learned from this experience was the value of giving back to the community. It was incredibly fulfilling to see the impact that our work was having on these children’s lives, and to know that we were making a positive difference in our community. In the end, the experience of teaching art and craft to underprivileged children was truly life-changing. It taught me so much about the power of education, the importance of empathy and compassion, and the value of giving back to those in need. I will always cherish this experience and the lessons it taught me.

The following LOs were achieved:

LO 4 : Shows commitment and perseverance in CAS experience:
Keeping committed was hard, weekends are the only time I feel relieved during these times, and so committing my weekends was a difficult task for me, but in the end it was worth it after seeing the kids and having fun with them. Even though I always wanted to sleep more and not miss my weekend, I remained committed and tenacious throughout.

LO 6 : Demonstrate engagement with issue of global significance:
When I had the opportunity to teach arts and crafts to underprivileged children, it became very apparent to me the global significance of education. Education is not only important for the individual, but for society as a whole. Teaching the children was more than just teaching them how to create art. It was an opportunity to teach them critical thinking skills, communication skills, and problem-solving skills. These are all essential skills that will be crucial for them to have in order to thrive in their future lives. In many parts of the world, there is a lack of education, especially in underprivileged communities.
