Playing a state level basketball tournament

Basketball has always been a part of my life, and I have been playing this sport ever since I was 4 years old. Playing a state level tournament in basketball is a big thing, and for me it means a lot because it shows me how far I have come along in this sport, from barely making to the team to starting 5 of the surat city team. I didn’t play any states before this because every time during the selections I was either injured or I didn’t know about the selections.

so here are some images with the team. We lost the tournament, but the experience was fun and challenging, it showed me that I need to improve a lot but overall I even got close to my teammates and we all became great friends, I am not satisfied with my performance as I averaged 16 points per game, because in first match I was benched and only played 4th quarter and score 12 points which were eventually lost. In the second match I was in the starting 5 and we won, I scored 20 and had 10+ assists, but it was already over.

The learning outcomes I have achieved are LO 1, 2, 4 and 5 which I aimed to achieve.

LO 1 – Strength and growth, throughout the tournament I found myself improving and doing things that are tough for me with ease, due to the pressure I was forced to surpass my limits and improve to keep up with the competition, I eventually ended up dominating from my side but yeah, it’s a team game.

LO 2 – Playing the state tournament for the first time was kind of a challenge as I only played tournaments from school so it’s a new experience for me as I was playing association games for the first time but I was able to handle it as I had the skills  to play.

LO 4 – The learning outcome speaks for itself, this outcome is required if you want to play basketball at a high level as you need TEAMWORK to win. individually you can’t handle a team.

LO 5 – I was constantly involved and committed to every game surat city played and had a major role in team’s points creation.

I have many clips and some of them are too large but here’s one of my favs, if you wanna see more you can check my ig

This is a floater shot I hit over 2 tall defenders after passing a defender.

To conclude everything, this was quite challenging and fun experience and I look forward to play more state tournaments and even win them, and even get selected for nationals. (This tournament took part in december 2022)

Thank you for reading, this has been a great journey, the amount of improvement shown in 5 days was more than a month before that. I will come back even stronger.
