The event took place on February 23,2023 and was organized and participated by Economics and Business Management students and teachers also. And in this event there various types/categories of stall such as fun, fashion, food, and photobooth, I and my friends decided to participate in the food category.
Learning Outcomes :-
LO:1 Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth.
Our food stall name was “Snack O Pedia”, we had expected that it would not be as popular as sweets or more fancy food options. We were surprised, however, to discover that we had drawn large audiences and were struggling to keep up with demand due to finite supply. We had expected few clients and intended to run the stall with three of us. To ensure seamless functioning, we designed new business strategies and effectively implemented them. To overcome this difficulty, we focused on efficiency and precision, knowing that serving substandard drinks would result in losses and unwanted publicity.
LO:3 Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience.
To ensure the successful running of our food stall, we spent many weeks researching, developing a plan, and completing our items. Building an effective business mainly involves planning and work. This included selecting the best position for our strand, calculating the amount of food to prepare, and planning ways to attract more amount of food to prepare, and planning ways to attract more consumers while keeping pricing fair to ensure profitability. These objectives needed not just careful preparation, but also patience, effectiveness, and most importantly, cooperation. While initiating and planning a CAS experience requires flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to learn and grow.
LO:5 Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively.
Collaboration skills are essential in today’s world because most complex problems require multiple perspectives and skill sets to solve. It is a crucial aspect of success in many fields, including business and more. We recognised that the event’s success requires equal collaboration and common understanding from all participants. As a result, we stressed cooperation and collaboration, knowing that it was important to attaining our objectives. Collaborative work can bring diverse perspectives, more ideas, and better problem-solving. It can also lead to increased productivity, improved learning, and better relationships. By developing these skills, individuals can become more effective collaborators and achieve greater success in our personal life.
LO:7 Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions.
Recognizing and considering the ethics of choices and actions is important because it ensures that individuals make decision that are morally and socially responsible. Business skills, in addition to strategy and execution, are essential for the successful management of any stall. With this in mind, we were able to determine the price of our food fairly and prevent any partiality towards friends or colleagues. It involves identifying stakeholders, evaluating consequences, considering values, seeking advice and guidance, and reflecting on personal biases. By following these guidelines, we were able to make decisions that have a positive impact on themselves, others, and society as a whole.Additionally, following the event, the school gave 5% of the cash collected by each stall and gave to a non-profit organisation, displaying our dedication to social responsibility.
