Bal Mela volunteering

Counting as creativity, activity, and service

Bal mela is a fair organized in my school. Students from government schools come to our school and we make them have fun and let them enjoy themselves. I volunteered for the art stalls as a tattoo painter.

Learning outcomes demonstrated:

LO2: I had never painted on skin previously making this a new experience and challenge for me. I had to be quick because a lot of kids would come to my stall at the same time and I could not sacrifice the aesthetic of the tattoos. Hence, I developed my art and self management skills.

LO4: Since a lot of kids would come to my stall in groups, It was necessary to not make anyone feel left out. I showed commitment by being present for the event and continuously painting tattoos. I did not slack off anytime and made sure I could paint cool things for the kids to cherish.

LO5: I was not present at my stall as an individual. There were a few other students with me too who volunteered for tattoo painting. There were details that I couldn’t paint and hence, I asked my teammates to help paint them. Same way, there were few things that others were unable to paint and hence,I helped them by painting it for them. I developed collaborative skills by working with other people.
