Cycling is a low impact aerobic exercise that offers a wealth of benefits. It is also an wonderful workout that keeps us active everyday. It also prevent us from weight gain. I chose this activity because it helps us in keeping us fit and healthy in our routine. By doing this everyday, it prevents me from gaining weight and prevent me from different diseases. Cycling even improves joint mobility and reduces amount of body fat and makes our muscles more strong
Cyclothon was an event which happened on 22nd Jan 2023, in surat. It was a fun event, and for who likes cycling. It was of 21kms. I took part in that event with few of my friends. As I don’t go to gym, so I train myself by doing these all activities like cycling, running, football, and bodyweight exercises.
LO:1 Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth.
Several factors like physical abilities , technical skills are to considered to identify own strengths and develop areas for growth . I worked on my strength and weakness for this event. I practiced cycling every weekends whenever I could do, and it helped me in the event too. Due to regular practice I was able to complete the race within the time I expected for myself. One strength I already had was, due to regular cycling practice and playing football, my legs are strong enough. So while cycling neither my legs pained nor my stamina was draining off quickly.
LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.
It was a challenge for me to cycle this long and finish the race in the minimum time limit, I tried and overcame it. I practiced for this, and applied that in the race at right time for better results. The challenges which I faced was how much should I keep gap between any other person’s cycle and many more. Riding in group can help us become more confident and skilled in group rides. New skills learned by me were, how to keep balance within the crowd, and how to take proper judgements while riding the cycle amongst the crowd, and overtake them.
LO4:Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences.
I completed the Cyclothon in just 1 hour and the track was about 20 km. I also maintained the balance of this activity with my studies. And this was difficult to manage time , which made this activity more difficult. Due to regular practice I trained myself well enough, so I could perform better at the final day at the event. By consistently demonstrating commitment and perseverance in this activity, I did not only improve my skills but also achieved my goals.
The LP used here was, courageous, as I challenged myself to do this. I tried hard for the same and gave my time.
