An athletics inter school competition is a sporting event that is held between schools. It typically features a variety of track and field events, such as running, jumping, and throwing. This particular competition was held at a regional level. I participated in the Athletics Inter School Competition this year and it was a great experience. I competed in the shot put under 17 competition and placed first with a distance of almost 8 meters.
LO’s that were met during this:
LO1 – Identify your own strengths and develop areas for growth.
I have been playing shot put for more than 10 years now and have participated in multiple competitions, here participating in this sport was a much more convenient experience for me given the learnings I have acquired over the years. I also developed upon a bit given with a slight twerk in my gliding throwing technique I was able to throw the shot to a farther distance resulting in the win.
LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills.
As mentioned above the change made in my technique did help my performance, while this seems to be an easy task on the first go, it requires a lot of practice, and by changing the pivoting movement a bit, I developed a new skill.
