During the summer break, I interned at a Publication house “Niaa Creations”, which is an organization that works with young readers and gives them opportunities to publish their own work and conduct workshops. They have an online newspaper named ‘Positive Days’ which includes motivational articles relating to new initiatives taken by local organizations and promotional articles. I wrote articles for their newspaper and later they were published on the website. I want to pursue my career in journalism and writing and this internship helped me get hands on experience with what it is like to work for and write articles for a newspaper

LEARNER PROFILE ATTRIBUTES:
On doing this internship I gained more knowledge about how to write for newspapers and how journalism is, as an occupation. It also helped me enhance my communication skills as I had to talk to my colleagues and other members during the internship.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

LO 1: Identify own strengths and develop areas of growth
Before this I had never tried writing articles or had them published in official newspapers, this helped me develop my formal writing skills, and I got to know how I had made a right decision choosing this as I really enjoyed the working environment and it encouraged me to know more about journalism.

LO4: Show commitment and Perseverance in CAS experiences
Though interesting, writing articles everyday was not that easy, sometimes i ran out of ideas or vocab to write. Sometimes it is also difficult to get the exact idea of what the supervisor wants you to write about, but even after all these I committed to completing my articles and submitting them according to the given deadline.

LO 5 :Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively.
I demonstrated my writing skills throughout this experience and got to experience the environment in an office. It also helped me to know how to work in a team and learn how to make the environment inclusive and consider all opinions and ideas. It helped me improve my communication and people skills.
