our journey began with the operation of a food stall at a local community event. Beyond serving delicious dishes, our CAS experience aimed to create an impact on the global issues of zero hunger and no poverty by donating leftover fresh food and profits, contributing to a more equitable and sustainable world.
LO3 – Initiate and plan a CAS experience
This journey began with a spark of inspiration fueled by my love of cooking. I decided to start my food stall idea after seeing an opportunity at an upcoming community event. Setting specific objectives, defining the scope of the food stall, and connecting it with the event’s concept and purpose were all part of this step. Extensive planning was required to assure the success of the food stall experience. To uncover popular culinary trends and preferences among event guests, I did extensive market research. Using this information, I created a diversified and appealing meal that suited to a variety of tastes and dietary needs. Furthermore, I concentrated on practical matters such as collecting products and organising a team of volunteers to assist with meal preparation and service
LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience.
I knew I needed to commit to culinary quality in order to assure the success of our food stand. Long hours of recipe testing, product procurement, and painstaking preparation were required to ensure that each meal reached the highest quality standards. The dedication to provide outstanding flavours and a wide menu was critical, and it required unwavering work and drive. Beyond the cuisine, we were committed to having a good influence on the neighbourhood. We engaged event goers actively, presented information about local groups we supported, and encouraged donations. This dedication to community participation means working long hours at the booth and persistently promoting our objective, exhibiting our unshakeable dedication to the cause of zero hunger and promoting it by donating the leftover fresh food to the people in need.
LO6 – Engagement with issues of global significance.
Our food stall idea was always more than simply food delights; it was a commitment to global challenges. We were acutely aware of the world’s terrible rates of hunger and poverty and felt compelled to make a difference. Our objective was twofold: first, to reduce food waste by donating any leftover fresh food to local charity, and second, to contribute a major amount of our income to organisations devoted to worldwide hunger and poverty eradication. Our financial donations demonstrated our commitment to the worldwide challenge of poverty. A major amount of the proceeds from our food stalls were donated to organisations active in poverty alleviation and sustainable development projects across the world. This effort intended to make a good difference beyond our local neighbourhood, tackling the core causes of poverty and contributing to a more fair global society.
