The Global Odyssey event represents an amalgamation of economics and business management and is entirely orchestrated by Grade 11 students. This event comprises different teams, such as those responsible for decoration, fashion, entertainment, and financial management, all collaborating to guarantee its success. In this event, I was handling the fun section where students had set up stalls of fun games like FIFA, Basketball, Cup Flipping, and many more such.
LO2: While planning for the event, many people’s ideas clashed, however, trying to figure out how each student can bring something unique and fun to the event. At times, finalising the ideas was the easiest part as later on, area, space, and furniture were bigger concerns, which we overcame eventually.
LO4: This event may have been for a couple of hours, however, the planning had commenced a few weeks before. The planning had to be done alongside school work and submissions which required self-management skills and us being balanced students. The Global Odyssey needed to be a success and we worked diligently for it.
LO5: Each stall was handled by a team of 2-3 students and each section that is fun and food worked collaboratively within and among themselves.
After the event, all profits earned were donated to charity.
