Trekking

Trekking is an activity that allows an individual to connect to nature. As I am a nature-loving person I really wanted to go hiking (trekking) and thanks to CAS I got an opportunity to go hiking and get a break from the academics.

LO 1 : Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

I was able to recognize my physical and mental strengths during a variety of challenges and activities throughout the trek, but there were also times when I encountered many difficulties, which allowed me to recognize my need for experiential self-growth in those areas. As a result, this trek not only assisted me in identifying my strengths but also in comprehending and developing my areas for improvement.

LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills

During the expedition, I attempted various activities and difficulties that I had not attempted before in my life, such as a 15-kilometer (plus it was monsoon season) hike that tested both my physical and mental abilities. By taking on difficult tasks, this also enables me to go beyond my comfort zone. This journey helped me realise the value of physical skills like endurance and strength as well as the importance of determination.

LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS Experience

LO4: Demonstrate tenacity and dedication during the CAS Experience

I showed endurance during this CAS experience since there were times when I thought I couldn’t go on because of physical difficulties, but I chose to push through it, which also helped me improve my commitment abilities. The coaches’ assistance and presence allowed me to complete the hikes even though I was drained by the midway point.
