My role in planning the Freshers’ event for Grade 11 students, which introduced them to the Diploma Programme (DP), was a memorable CAS experience for me as a Grade 12 student. We started the academic year off on an energetic note, encouraging both creativity and activity, via hosting, dance, interactive activities, and teamwork. My dedication to the event’s success was demonstrated by my determination and commitment throughout its planning and execution, demonstrating my strength in the face of difficulties.
LO-3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience
Organizing the Freshers’ event for Grade 11 students gave me the chance to show off my initiative and organizing skills for a CAS experience. To create engaging events, the process required careful preparation, collaboration with teachers and fellow students, and imaginative thinking. I actively took part in imagining the event’s framework, establishing goals, and creating a schedule for its effective execution from the moment the idea was conceived to the moment it was carried out. This experience helped me improve my project management abilities and taught me how crucial careful preparation is to the achievement of a project like this that aims to develop a community.
LO-4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
My attention to the Freshers’ event was constant, which was a reflection of my commitment to the CAS experience and the successful introduction of the Grade 11 students into the Diploma Programme. Despite difficulties and challenges that appeared during the planning and execution stages, I maintained my commitment to make the big event a special occasion for everyone involved. This dedication went above and beyond simple enthusiasm, it proved my determination and resilience in the face of challenges. It had a lasting influence on both the Grade 11 students and my personal development as a Grade 12 student by highlighting the importance of dedication and determination in accomplishing goals.
