I now realize that my experience working at the Bal Mela event hosted by my school was a great learning experience for me. I facilitated a game where players had to play fire in the mountain during the event, which gave children from government schools a chance to participate in a variety of games and activities.
LO 1 : Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
Finding my own talents and places for improvement was one of the most important learning experiences for me. When I was able to clearly and entertainingly explain the game’s rules to people of different backgrounds, I realised that interacting with them was one of my strongest suit. I understood that I needed to improve my abilities to lead huge crowds of people, though. Although handling a big number of participants was challenging, the experience allowed me to gain new expertise in event planning.
LO 2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
The capacity to take on problems and gain new abilities in the process was another crucial learning result of CAS that I showed. It was a difficult assignment to facilitate the game for the participants because I had to be flexible and respond to their demands. Nonetheless, I was able to gain new communication and event management skills from this experience that I will be able to utilise in many different facets of my life.
LO 5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
Collaboration with other volunteers was yet another worthwhile learning opportunity for me. I was able to make sure that everything went off without a hitch by collaborating with other volunteers. I used each volunteer’s strengths wisely after recognising them in order to give the participants a smooth experience. Collaboration allowed me to accomplish my objectives more quickly, which was a useful lesson for me.
LO 6: Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance
Also, the Bal Mela event gave me a chance to discuss topics that are important to the entire world. I helped build a more equal and just society by planning an event that encouraged inclusivity and involvement among students from various backgrounds. I am happy to have contributed to this event’s promotion of social harmony; my efforts were admirable.
About my learner profile, I showed signs of being a communicator and a caring person. I worked cooperatively with other volunteers and effectively communicated with the participants. I also treated the participants with kindness and understanding, which helped them feel at ease and like a part of the event. These qualities are crucial for both social and personal growth, so I’m delighted I was able to exhibit them at the event.
Last but not least, the Bal Mela event gave me a great chance to learn and grow as a person. By taking part in the event, I was able to recognise my areas of strength and development, learn new skills, show the advantages of working collaboratively, interact with topics of international importance, and exhibit the qualities of a communicator and compassionate person. This program’s ultimate goal of making me a more well-rounded person has been achieved by these encounters.
In conclusion, I learned a lot from my experience volunteering at the Bal Mela event. I recognised my areas of strength and development, learned new abilities, showed the advantages of teamwork, became involved in topics of international concern, and displayed the qualities of a communicator and a compassionate person. I feel like these experiences have made me a more well-rounded person, and I’m excited to use these abilities and knowledge in other facets of my life.
